On Anxiety & Burnout

If you are a founder or a creator, or even an employee trying to build something on the side, there must be times you will feel anxious and burnt out.

Today is the day I feel that, as I write this post.

But you see, the solution is in this post itself.

Anxiousness comes when you see things are not happening the way you want & you can’t even control it.

Burnout occurs when you stretch this anxious feeling instead of accepting it.

I came across this amazing graphic on stages of Burnout.

Which stage you are in?

The way I resolve this feeling is through this >>>

Step 1: Accept the fact that you are anxious. Rejecting it, will not help.

Step 2: Create something. As you see, I am writing this post. When you create something useful, you trick your mind into believing that you are in control.

So these 2 things are extremely important.

When I say create something, it can be anything, even not related to business.

It can be a bucket list you want to travel to or a checklist of things you want to do.

Or a Tweet or blog Post.

Just put down your thoughts, and you will feel alight.

Another basic thing, go for a walk. Get some natural light and do a physical activity. That’s one of the best things you can do when you feel anxious and burnt out.

And the last thing is to develop a stoic mentality.

If things are not in your control, accept it and move on. You have already given your best.

Control the controllable.

Lastly, know that this journey you chose was to feel better. To get out of the clutches and realize your dreams.

So there’s no point in feeling sad.

Here’s what I am going to do:

  • Accept the anxious feeling
  • Probably change my work location now
  • Enjoying rather than punishing yourselves

So the next time you feel anxious, try these!
