There is no such terminology in business. I coined this.
I felt that I should explain the logic and the simplicity behind this business model.
In simple words, it is this:
RaaP (Research as a product) Business model:
Let’s suppose, you research something, get valuable insights, or have some valuable data with you.
You package it as a product and sell it for a one-time price.
That’s it. That is called Research as a Product & the model is RaaP.
Now you would say, that would be a course or eBook? Yes, it can be. But under RaaP, the final product looks professional and feels almost like software, which increases its value.
The best example of this is Nomad List.
It’s a simple database or directory site with places where one can explore as a digital nomad. You get insights about location and other stuff.
See? It’s that simple.
And guess what, how much it makes? $41k per month
I started with Affiliate Corner 2 years back and almost generated ~$75,000+ in revenue using the same business model.
Now, I wanted this idea or concept to spread like wildfire, because not everyone is leveraging how great and simple this concept is.
To do that, I have launched a product called “LTD Ideas” (LTD means lifetime deal).
With this product, I am sharing product ideas that you can sell for one-time price to customers. Which essentially comes under the same business model (RaaP)
It can be databases, directories, checklists, scripts, insights, data points, etc
The core logic is: It has to be something that one cannot get easily. It can be research, valuable insights, data points or anything which is curated.
It’s a great business model to start, especially for those who are starting and don’t know what to do.
With this, you can build your momentum and start your product portfolio.
