The average lifespan of a human in this generation is around 75-80. If you are healthy and lucky, you might live up to 90-95 maximum.
Do you want to live a life of fear?
My biggest decisions are made from Jeff Bezos’s Regret Minimization Framework.
& I think you should also start thinking the same way.
Imagine you are on your deathbed. Would you regret the actions you didn’t take?
At the back of your mind, you always wanted to do something, but the fear instilled by society made you back out.
Well, there are no rules. It’s all made up by the society. We humans are not defined by a framework or a set of rules.
Society thinks that way because they are conditioned with old-school thoughts. Amazing things happen only when someone takes a leap of faith.
So, just don’t listen to what your society says. Don’t ever succumb to the pressure. You don’t owe them anything.
It’s your life. I remember the famous song by Bon Jovi:
It’s my life
It’s now or never
I ain’t gonna live forever
I just want to live while I’m alive
Your goal should not be to follow the usual societal norms. Just question everything.
What does society say?
- Graduate at 22-23
- Do 9-5 from 24 to 58
- Marry at 26-27
- Make babies at 29-30
- Retire at 60
- Enjoy life at weekends & post-retirement
These are BS rules. It’s the biggest trap ever. The sooner you know the better it is.
I know, that many of you will think, well, I want to live this normal life and don’t wanna risk anything.
Well, if you think this way, maybe you need to upgrade your mentality. Maybe you are not inspired enough.
Maybe you are just fine living someone else’s life. That’s fine. But I wouldn’t recommend going down this route.
Sometimes when you hit a certain age, you will think about this post. I bet on that. Because I have been through this.
Instead, create your own life design.
So, my question to you is this:
Are you going to listen to what society says or are you going to listen to what your heart says and follow it?
Go somewhere alone this weekend, and please do a one-hour self-talk on this question.
It might change your life for the better.
